Abstract:
The purposes of the Research and Development (R&D) study were to 1) examine the
fundamental information regarding the career skills of primary school students, 2) construct and
develop a career skills enhancement program with local integration in Sakon Nakhon Province for
primary school students, and 3) assess the appropriateness and feasibility of the developed program.
The research process was divided into the following three phases: Phase I involved an examination
of fundamental information about students career skills through stakeholders-ten expertsparticipating in a focus group discussion. The tool included a set of structural questions, and a
written record of the focus group discussion. A survey examining fundamental information on
students career skills was administered on a total sample consisting of 337 out of 2,503 teachers
from schools under Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, in the academic year
2023. Sample selection utilized the Krejci and Morgan formula and was selected through
proportional stratified random sampling. The tool included a questionnaire form. Statistics for data
collection included percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Phase II involved constructing and
developing the career skills enhancement program through an analysis of relevant documents and
research studies, as well as consultation with five experts. The developed program was subsequently
validated and confirmed by the same five experts. The research tools used for this phase consisted
of an interview form on program elements, and an interview form to validate and confirm the
drafted program. Phase III was related to assessing the appropriateness and feasibility of the
developed program with 11 experts. The tool was an assessment form for measuring the programs
appropriateness and feasibility. Following a summary of the research results, the career skills
enhancement program with local integration in Sakon Nakhon Province was introduced.
