Abstract:
Water Qualities of the East coast in Map Ta Phut area, Rayong province and Laem Chabang area, Chonburi province, were investigated monthly during January to December 1986. Water samples were collected from these areas approximately 1,500 and 3,000 meters from shore. It was found that the average qualities in Map Ta Phut area were as follows: temperature of 26.8+-2.0 ํC, salinity of 32.8+-2.07%. pH of 8.29+-0.18, dissolved oxygen of 7.56+-0.77 mg/1, phosphate concentration of 0.34+-0.44 ug-at/1, ammonia concentration of 0.72 0.72+-1.07 ut-at/1, nitrite concentration of 0.06+-0.10 ug-at/1 and nitrate concentration of 0.16+-0.26 ug-at/1. The average water qualities in Laem Chabang area were as follows: temperature of 26.6+-2.0 ํC, salinity of 32.5+-2.1%, pH of 8.27+-0.16, dissolved oxygen of 7.22+-0.69 mg/1, phosphate concentration of 0.37+-0.23 ug-at/1, ammonia concentration of 1.02+-1.43 ug-at/1, nitrita concentration of 0.16+-0.22 ug-at/1 and nitrate concentration of 0.16+-0.32 ug-at/1. Water qualities of the both areas were no significant difference, exceptionally, in Map Ta Phut area, there were the higher concentration of dissolved oxygen and the lower concentration of ammonia and nitrite than in Laem Chabang area.
