Effectiveness of oral hazard prediction training activites(oral kyt) on personal safety behaviors among production workers in a factory in Chonburi province
Abstract:
This research aimed to study the effect of Oral Hazard Prediction Training (Oral KYT) on the personal safety behaviors among production staff in a factory in Chonburi Province.
40 subjects participated in the research related activities for 12 weeks. Safety behaviors were assessed using a pre-test-post-test design (quasi-experimental research) before and after the Oral KYT activities in week 4,8 and 12, respectively. Data were collected by questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and one group pretest posttest measures.
All subjects were male, having an average age of 30 years(52.5%). Most were married (55.0 %) , and their average duration of employment was 6 years. Nearly all worked at the production level in the factory (97.5%) , the majority had no accident history (90.0%)
The average score of personal safety behaviors at work before intervention was 2.12, which rose to 2.76 by the end of the project this means a significant increase in personal safety behaviors was found at the 0.05 level.
This study found that the implementation of Oral KYT training is an effective and efficient way to reduce the risk of work related accidents, and should be considered for implementation on a wider scale.
