The main purpose of this research was to assess dementia risk factors and develop an
innovative intervention to reduce the risk of dementia in a group of Thai elderly people. The
intervention integrated among exposure to pleasant sounds, improving personal relations,
engagement in physical activity and promotion of techniques for positive thinking. The study

in-depth interviews, focus group interviews form, record form, observation form, the Thai
Geriatric Depression Scale (TGDS) and self-change assessment form. Descriptive statistics and
inferential statistics was chi-square, odds ratio and t-test were used in data analysis. The results
revealed that:
The risk factors of dementia in the ageing had to more than 30% were hyperlipidemia
and risk of diabetes mellitus. The exercise helped to reduce the risk factors of depression,
prediabetes and hypertension was at 4.75, 3.23, 2.18 (95% CI: 1.43-15.75, 1.64-6.35, and 1.00-
4.78) respectively. Integration of 4Ps in the form of no exercise found that there was three
elements was Dao De Xin Xi dance, social dance and had to intervention of positive thinking in
the song.
The innovation development was the PREBRA exercise model, which consists of
music, pattern and exercise figure, video and the PREBRA exercise guide. The experts evaluated
at the highest level in the utility standards (
X
= 4.35+0.67) and the other were at a high level. In
terms of effectiveness, it was found that the experimental group had significantly to decreased
systolic blood pressure, triglycerides and depression scores and increased high-density lipoprotein
cholesterol and brain health measured as the ratio between alpha/beta (p <0.05). The experimental group had to decrease to drug of risk factors disease and perceptive to change
physical mind and social was better. In conclusion, the innovative PREBRA exercise model has
been shown to positively impacton several factors that pose a risk for dementia. Relevant
government agencies may use these findings to enhance holistic health promotion for the ageing
population in Thailand.
