Abstract:
Construction workers who built electricity train route were at risk of falling from height. This accident caused many dangerous consequences. Most workers died because of falling from height. This study aimed to study factors relating to safety behavior for working at height of 180 construction workers who built sky train lines in Bangkok. The questionnaire was used to be the instrument for searching factors relation to safety behavior for working at height. The result revealed that male workers (75.6%) and femal workers (24.4%) were aged between 18-30 years (56.7%), 47.8% were married, 29.4% graduated at lower primary education, 60.6% were Thai citizen, 31.1% of most construction workers had 1-2 years of duration of employment, 62.8% had 1 year or 2 years of work experiences, 81.1% were plant operators, 88.3% had safety training experiences, 71.1% did not get any accident from working, 76.8% got an accident only 1 time, 85.7% got severity of working at height at Severity 1 level. Moreover, this study showed the construction workers had attitudes affected (r = 0.403** p = 0.000) to perception behavior and believed to self-control their behavior (r = 0.403** p = 0.000) and attentice behavior (r = 0.403** p = 0.000) all Theory of plan behavior TPB and safety behavior for working at height were significant at the 0.05 level. Moreover, it should study more factors e.g. organizations factors there will be strictly requirement and regulation that affecting to the safety behavior for working at height.
