Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to 1) study the level of organizational engagement among municipal personnel in Chonburi, 2) examine the factors affecting the organizational engagement among municipal personnel in Chonburi, and 3) develop a causal model of organizational engagement among municipal personnel in Chonburi. The sample group consisted of 412 personnel working in the municipality offices in Chonburi. The adopted research instrument was a questionnaire with a 5-level gauge. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics provided in a ready statistics program and examined the structural validity of the causal relationship model using LISREL.
The research results can be concluded that 1) the level of organizational engagement, in terms of the confidence and acceptance of the organization's goals, the intention to maintain the membership of the organization, and the commitment to dedicate to the success of the organization, is ranged in the high level; 2) the causal relationship model is well-consistent with the empirical data. The Relative Chi-square value is equivalent to 2.81. The Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) is equivalent to .973. The Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) is equivalent to .920. The Comparative Fit Index (CFI) is equivalent to .997. the Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) is equivalent to .013. The root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) is equivalent to .066. The variables of organizational culture, quality of work life, and job satisfaction can explain the organizational engagement at 98 percent.
