Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to 1) study the level of leadership of school administrators under the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province, 2) compare the leadership of school administrators under the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province which was classified by gender, educational background and work experience, and 3) compile problems and suggestions about the leadership of school administrators under the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province. The population used in this research study was 275 teachers who works for the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province while the sample were 153 teachers. The sample size was determined by using the tables of Krejcie and Morgan. The questionnaire was used for data collection. Descriptive statistic such as mean score, percentage, standard deviation, t-test and f-test were used for data analysis. The results showed that
1. the overall leadership level of school administrators under the office of non-formal education and informal education in Narathiwat Province was high.
2. The comparative results of the school administrators leadership under the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province which were classified by gender, educational background and work experience was found overall with no difference except administration and communication skills at significance level of 0.05. In addition, the teachers with less than five years and more than 10 years of work experience had different opinions in terms of administration and communication skills.
3. Suggestions on the leadership of school administrators under the office of non-formal and informal education in Narathiwat Province were provided. Firstly, school administrators should clearly outline a vision in accordance with policy and the areas circumstances, and the visions should be improved every five years. The school administrators communication skills should be improved by being more aware of word choices which sensitively affect underlings and their work. Moreover, school administrators should make use of their abilities to successfully manage work. Aside from that, there is a clear and systematic strategy with duties being assigned according to individuals abilities. Discrimination based on goodness and subordinates preferences should constantly be learned in management principles in the new era and can bring subordinates to willingly work together as a team.
